What I learned
Creating the music installation for Riot Games marked my first venture into implementing Location-Based Entertainment (LBE) projects. Witnessing guests engage, play, and enjoy the installation on Shanghai Bunds filled me with pride. As a project designer, I express gratitude to my colleagues and satisfaction with the project's success.
Throughout this experience, I learned valuable lessons. Collaborating with producers, animators, and fellow designers, we utilized communication tools such as Wechat, Slack, Zoom, and Figma. Daily discussions with clients, especially regarding Chinese song name translations, required agile design updates.
With a tight two-week schedule from strategy to final implementation, I honed time management skills. Scheduling regular meetings, submitting designs ahead of time allowed producers ample review time and efficient feedback.
This project pushed me to refine my design precision. While school projects often emphasized overall solutions, Riot Games' brand guidelines demanded pixel-perfect visuals. Meeting high client expectations, I elevated my visual design skills significantly.
